What do you do off the mat?
Babysit, or sit with my grandchildren-my number 1 favorite thing in the world to do. Read, spend time with my husband, crossword puzzles. Sewing, cooking, I love to cook comfort food, soups.
What brought you to Brandywine Yoga for the first time?
It was convenient, I was ready and I fell in love with the people here.
What's your favorite thing about the studio?
The feeling of belonging, the ambiance, the positivity, the people and the love!
What's your advice to someone coming to yoga for the first time?
Give yourself time, enjoy the moment. Don't have expectations, don't look around! Enjoy yourself in the moment, be your own guide.
What has your yoga practice given you?
A sense of positivity, perspective, peacefulness, strength. The ability to handle every day stresses-to break down big issues into bite sized pieces. I am better able to dismiss negative thoughts. I also sleep better.
What is your favorite pose?
Yoga squat, I find it very comfortable.
Your least favorite pose?
Anything involving balance, the wall is my friend!
Tell us something unusual about yourself.
I was a flower child in the 60's. I chased the Beatles to Miami and scared George Harrison by ransacking his car!! I befriended Brian Summerfield! I kissed the Blarney Stone!
What three words would your best friend use to describe you?
Loyal, compassionate and curious.
What's your guilty, or not so guilty pleasure?
Solitaire on my iPad, 'Say Yes To The Dress'. Chocolate, I'm allergic!
Have you made any big changes in your life since starting your practice?
No! Nothing big.
